A few weeks ago I received another item from BzzAgent to review. Yes, I love getting boxes from them! And my son must be getting hooked too!
This time it was the KRE-O CityVille Invasion Marina Madness Construction Set. My son is now watching for boxes to arrive with toys. What kid wouldn’t look forward to getting new toys on a regular basis?
Notice there are even a few small packages & coupons that I will give away! Want one?
To be honest, I wasn’t originally thrilled with this item because I worried about all of the small pieces. Those small pieces don’t get along well with vacuums or bare feet in the middle of the night! Fortunately, for my bare feet (and my husbands), the little pieces weren’t a problem. My son took extra care in keeping the pieces picked up so that he could get the “final design”.
My son is only 7 so he needed a bit of help and guidance which my husband was more than thrilled to offer. Great quality father/son time! Don’t worry, I was able to get in some quality time too, I watched & took a few pictures!
Piece by piece it was put together with a very helpful book that is included. Make sure you don’t mistakenly toss the book. My son was able to pick out the pieces each step of the way by looking at the pictures in the book. As each figure came together, the design was making sense and my son got more excited about getting finished.
This does take 3 AAA Batteries. I know that some games come with batteries included and some don’t so we normally have batteries at home. Not this time. My son insisted that we go right out for batteries so that his project would be complete. Notice the buttons!
He was so excited that this set not only made marina noises but that a few of the pieces actually moved. OK, I have to admit! I was surprised at how awesome this toy was. My husband and I discussed that this would make a great gift for other kids since the holidays are coming up and we always have kid’s birthday gifts to purchase. We have also decided to get my son a small table for his room, so that he can get the additional city-themed pieces to complete the CityVille Invasion, which is about 5 construction sets.
This was our first experience with KRE-O. My overall opinion of this construction set toy is great. It is recommended for kids ages 6-12. There are small pieces so I wouldn’t recommend it around small children that still put things in their mouths.
The construction set is still small enough that the other construction sets can be added nicely without taking up too much space. But still big enough to be fun! This is a great way for kids to be creative, while following directions. The sets seem to be durable once put together too.
This is also priced just under $20, which I think it great. When my son is going to a friend’s birthday party we have two goals in mind; it needs to be something that he would like to get as a gift and be priced at $20 or under. This fits right into that category.
In additional to this collection there are other added bonuses. In researching the other CityVille construction set, I read that each set comes with its own figures that the kids can collect. Also if you have access to a smart device there are apps available to play games. But from what I have read the apps are suitable for 9 year olds and older.
Although the KRE-O CityVille Invasion Building Sets are brand new, so far I have been able to find them at Target. I have also seen them online at Target, Amazon, and ToysRUs. So start that shopping early!
Have you purchased the KRE-O CityVille Invasion Construction Sets yet? Which one(s) do you have? Do you think that you would consider purchasing this item?
