My Review of Say Goodbye To Survival Mode

Say Goodbye To Survival Mode

In November I was selected to be part of the Pre-Launch Team for Crystal Paine’s newest book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode. I remembered applying because I knew it would be a great opportunity. But when I received the email that I was actually selected I was a bit nervous and had mixed thoughts on accepting.

You see, there are days when I feel that I am drowning in the things that need to be done. Of course, I am a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, but the list to get things done is endless while still trying to be a good wife, mom, and friend; even finding time for me.

I actually considered declining to be part of the book launch for a split second since I didn’t know how in the world I was going to add reading a 200+ book to my already overfilled schedule.

During that split second thought of declining these were my thoughts:

“Are you crazy? There is no way that I could ever decline this opportunity. This is a Crystal Paine of MoneySavingMom.com, a well-known blogger and she has selected me!”

Ok, in reality I was not the only one selected but I still can’t decline the opportunity. I have been reading her blog for several years and have so much respect for her. Through the years I have learned so much just by reading her blog. I knew that I needed help and that she probably had more great tips to offer in her book. So I accepted the challenge to read this book and in record-time! And I am so glad that I did.

Guess what! Not that I should have been surprised but the book Say Goodbye to Survival Mode really is a must read for any woman that is ready to start enjoying their life, stress free and still succeed.

I love that Crystal is real and down to earth. She puts herself and her real-life struggles out there for everyone to see. That takes courage. She is just like us and if she can overcome everyday obstacles then we can to. In her book, she offers many suggestions to get to where we want to be; be a better woman, a better wife, a better mother. You deserve the opportunity to be a successful you.

Something that continues to resonate with me is her saying “Give Yourself Grace”. We can’t be expected to do everything and do it well. It is ok to decline offers and say no to commitments. I really needed this since I have a tendency to take on too much and then get stressed about it, which honestly isn’t good for me or those around me. And as Crystal mentions in her book, if we take on something but have too many things going on we aren’t going to be able to give it the attention it needs. Something will suffer and we don’t want that.

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode is an inspirational book with practical ideas for setting and reaching goals, when and how to say no to requests when you’re schedule is already overflowing, and successfully managing the home-front and bank account; just to mention a few. The suggestions that she mentions in her book will also depend on what season of life you are in. In her book there are 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion For Life, even if you pick a couple of them you will be that much closer to a life that you deserve.

Even though I have the pre-launch copy of the book, I still pre-purchased a copy of Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, for my Library. I know it would be a great addition to your Library as well.

It hit the book-stands today, here is how to order your own copy Say Goodbye to Survival Mode: 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life

If you’re thinking that you don’t have time to read a book right now, then this book is definitely for you. Are you so busy that you don’t know how to get everything done or you feel like you need a break but don’t have time? Are you overwhelmed? Do you want to be a better you? Is it a constant juggling act?

Make time to read this book and then put into action some of her suggestions so that you too can start living a life that you deserve. You will be glad that you did. And yes, I said put into action “some” of the suggestions because as she says “it will depend on what season of life you are in”.

For me, this book came at a time when I was so busy I wasn’t sure which direction to go. But, I knew that I wanted to make changes and this book gave practical suggestions for doing just that.

I will now be able to say goodbye to survival mode and start living a life that I deserve, full of purpose.

  1. I loved the book, too. I learned to say no when I was pregnant with my son and caring for my grandpa. But I still can get overwhelmed so this book really helped me to gain more focus so I can do the best things instead of just good things.

It’s great you picked up a book for your library, that’s a great idea.

  2. Stopping by to say hello via the SITS Comment Love Week! I have been looking for a different banana bread recipe and this looks divine! Pinning! ~Thea
