The Harlem Globetrotters, My Review

A couple of months ago I read that the Harlem Globetrotters were coming back to OKC. We have seen them in the past but it’s still fun to go and I knew that my kids would enjoy seeing them again. But when I looked at ticket prices I decided that we would skip this year because we are cutting back on expenses and this just wasn’t in the budget. (thanks Dave Ramsey)

But last month I saw a link on FB that Oklahoma City Moms Blog had a Giveaway for a Harlem Globetrotters package. So I jumped right over to their blog to register. If you haven’t checked out their blog yet, you really should.

Did you catch that? It sounds familiar to my blog, but I am not associated with it. But how cool would it be if I was, right?! The contributors over there all seem to be awesome! Maybe some-day. Hey, a girl can dream right?! ;-)

How often do you register for Giveaways?

I had completely forgotten about the Giveaway until I received an email from Erin that I had won the Harlem Globetrotters package. I was so excited, especially since I haven’t won anything in quite a while! Plus I knew that my boys would be so excited!

If getting four (4) FREE tickets wasn’t enough, we also received an autographed (full-size) Harlem Globetrotters basketball, 2 souvenir cups, and two (2) packages of wristbands.

Thanks to Oklahoma City Moms Blog for hosting the Giveaway.

Although, they were like “MOM” when I wanted to take their picture, this is them excited when they found out that we were going to see the Harlem Globetrotters:

We get to go see the Harlem Globetrotters

We thoroughly enjoyed getting to watch the Harlem Globetrotters last weekend and had great seats. It was funny & entertaining, keeping the attention of an audience of all ages. The Harlem Globetrotters are talented players/entertainers with their tricks, shots, and moves. The jokes and gags with the rest of the team and some in the audience were great. It was an interactive comedy game of sorts, keeping the audience engaged and having a good time. The players seem to really enjoy what they are doing and seem to work well with each other. And it was hilarious to watch Big G jump around and slam himself down onto the court. I even recorded it on my smartphone but it was too blurry to show here. But here are a few pictures that I wanted to share with you.

Have you been to see the Harlem Globetrotters? What was your experience like when you attended?

Did you know that the Harlem Globetrotters have a camp for kids ages 6-12? I had no idea and there isn’t one in our area, but we may consider taking a little vacation and letting our youngest attend. I think it would be a great opportunity. If you’re looking for more information or want to see if the camp is near you here is link Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Camp for kids.

  1. How exciting! Looks like it was a blast!

  2. My older son and I got to go see them once a few years ago, they are awesome!

  3. I went as a teenager and loved them! I would love to take my kids someday too. That is so cool that you got to go for free!

  4. Looks like a lot of fun. We haven’t been before but I know they come to our town ever so often.

  5. So glad you got to go and it was fun! Those were great seats! Thanks for the pingback – appreciated reading about your experience!!

  6. That’s so great that you won the tickets! I haven’t been entering giveaways much lately, but I used to all the time. I’ve won a few pretty cool things, which always kind of makes your day :)

  7. How exciting! I saw the Harlem Globetrotters a very long time ago when they came Bucknell University and I was, I believe, in junior high school. It’s a terrific show. It’s great that you got to go.

I found your blog, btw, via a comment at the Mommy Bloggers group at Circle of Moms.

  8. I’ve never been, but I always wanted to go as a kid. I’d only seen them do all kinds of tricks on TV, which of course my brother and I (unsuccessfully) imitated. Your kids are lucky!

BTW, visiting here from #SITSBlogging :-)

  9. I saw the Harlem Globetrotters when I was three years old or as same would say, many moons ago. It is one of my earliest memories and still one I talk to my kids about today.

  10. That is so cool you got to go! I think my family would love that!
