Hello my name is Tamara

A little about me:

I have been married to my sweetheart & best friend since July 1994. We have 3 amazing children; our daughter (born in 1989), and two sons (born in 1996 & 2005). Yes, we spread them way out in years. We are often asked, “Did you plan it that way?” No not really, but we wouldn’t change one thing about our blessings or when God have them to us. One thing is for sure, there is never a dull moment in this house!

I was born & raised in Texas but moved to OKC in 2010 when my husband’s job brought us here. The moment when my husband told me that his job wanted him to consider a position here in OKC. I said “but they have tornado’s there”. I really thought that was the end of the conversation. Little did I know that he would fly out the following week to discuss this position, and ultimately be offered the position that would change the course of all our lives!

I guess the word “tornado” was over-ridden by promotion. Don’t get me wrong, I am probably one of the most supportive and encouraging oilfield wives there is, but had he really thought this thing through?
Once the shock wore off, we were all really excited about the move. But I don’t think any of us were really prepared for the emotions that we would experience.

While living in Texas I was a member & volunteer of a local mommy site. It was a great way for me to make friends, meet for play-dates, and chat online about the day-to-day joys & challenges of being a mom. This is one thing that I really missed once we moved here.

I am hoping that as we explore OKC it will help other moms & their families, whether you are new here or have been a resident for a while. Either way, I would love to hear from you! I am not a professional writer so please be patient with me as I share our story.

I hope that you decide to follow along & share your thoughts along the way. Please feel free to contact me as well at Tamara At “okcmomof3 at yahoo dot com”.

Thanks for reading my blog!

Many Blessings!
